- Visual Studio 2019 Release Date
A week ago Microsoft announced that the first preview of Visual Studio 2019 will be available before year’s end.
The update is expected to bring better refactorings, better navigation, more capabilities in the debugger, faster solution load, and faster builds.
It will also further work on connected capabilities like Live Share and make cloud scenarios like working with online source repositories more seamless.
To help test the Visual Studio 2019 version, you need to opt-in to the Visual Studio 2017 preview, which you can download from the official website. The Preview can be installed as a stand-alone program, which means you can use it alongside Visual Studio 2017. Because the Developer Tools teams (especially.NET and Roslyn) do so much work in GitHub, you’ll start to see check-ins that indicate that we’re laying the foundation for Visual Studio 2019, and we’re now in the early planning phase of Visual Studio 2019 and Visual Studio for Mac.
- Yesterday, we cov ered What’s next for Visual Studio for Mac. We’re particularly excited to share this update since it includes information about the first preview of Visual Studio 2019, which we will make available by the end of this calendar year. (GA) version of Visual Studio 2019 in the first half of 2019.
- Our goal with this next release is to make it a simple, easy upgrade for everyone – for example, Visual Studio 2019 previews will install side by side with Visual Studio 2017 and won’t require.
- The blueprint for Visual Studio 2019, as well as Visual Studio for Mac, also calls for easy upgrades. The first public beta Visual Studio 2019 could come as early as October 2018, with some.
It should also have a better performing and more reliable debugger, moving to an out-of-process 64-bit process, improved search accuracy for menus, commands, options, and installable components and a lot more.
